Congregational Mediation

As members of one body you were called to peace.

Congregational Conflict Resolution

A way to work together towards peace.

Faith communities are not immune to conflict. There are disputes in churches and ministry organizations. The desire to serve a higher calling often brings about emotions that can damage relationships and institutions. This can negatively affect the work which is intended to benefit so many. But there is a way to peace.

Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace and mutual edification.
– Psalm 34:14

Grace, truth and collaboration are some of the ingredients required for successful dispute resolution affecting churches and ministries. The Church is especially familiar with these concepts. However, when there are less than perfect human beings involved (as is always the case) there can be obstacles, disagreements and even strife. Congregational mediation is a compassionate, biblically informed practice of restoring peace through facilitated, insightful dialogue.

Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
– James 3:18

A professional mediator is a neutral party who does not make decisions regarding the conflict in question. The mediator helps all sides draw out their interests and reconcile impasses, while working towards peaceful resolutions. This voluntary process is designed around the specific needs of each case. Congregational mediation requires facilitation skills, impartiality, and a peace-making heart that is empathetic towards the cause and everyone involved.

Reach a settlement quickly with your adversary while you are on the way with him…
– Matthew 5:25
